Town of the City of Champaign is seeking a dependable Grants Coordinator to manage comprehensive financial grant coordination for the Township. The role supports financial workflows, drafts materials, and ensures accuracy across all Township grants.

Responsibilities include drafting and tracking grant budgets, submitting monthly/quarterly reports, monitoring invoices, maintaining GATA eligibility, and preparing closeout reports with supervision. 30 hours weekly, non-exempt, starting $27–$29/hr.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, accounting or related field.
  • Two years’ experience with financial grant management – state and federal, preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial tracking systems.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills, with attention to accuracy and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive financial grant coordination for the Township.
  • Draft and track grant budgets in coordination with program directors.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly and financial reports.
  • Monitor invoices and grant expenditures; ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain GATA eligibility and prepare materials with supporting documents.
  • Assist with fiscal requirements, deadlines, and draft supervisor reports.
  • Prepare reimbursement packets and monitor reporting schedules.

Grants Coordinator

Position Summary

The Grants Coordinator provides comprehensive financial grant coordination for the Township, supporting financial workflows, preparing draft materials, and ensuring documentation accuracy across all Township grants.

Grant Compliance & Reporting
  • In coordination with program directors,draftandtrackgrantbudgets

  • Complete andsubmitmonthly/quarterlyandfinancial reports

  • Monitor, process invoicesandtrack grant expenditures

  • Maintain GATA eligibility and prepare GATA materialswithsupporting documents

  • Assistwith fiscal requirements by tracking deadlines, organizing files, and preparing draft reports for Supervisor review

  • Prepare reimbursement packets

  • Monitor grant deadlinesandreporting schedules

  • In coordination with Supervisor, prepare closeout reports

Financial Operational Support
  • Ensure financial records meet state retention compliance
  • Monitor expenditures for accuracy and completeness

  • Verify AP accuracy, fund availability and grant coding

  • Ensure compliance withinternal financial proceduresand updateanddocumentchanges toworkflows.
Other Duties as Assigned
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor to support Township operations, consistent with the scope and classification of this position.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, public administration,accountingor related field

  • Two years’ experiencewithfinancialgrant management – state and federal, preferred

  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Excel and financial tracking systems

  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills, with attention to accuracy and deadlines
Schedule & Compensation
  • 30 Hours:Monday-Friday | 8:30am-2:00pm
  • Starting at $27-$29/hr
  • This position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and iseligible for overtime compensation.
