Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Grants Analyst in Long Island City to support contract management, grant proposals, and compliance reporting. This role focuses on ensuring accuracy of grant financial data and preparing budgets and forecasts for assigned program areas.

The position offers a path from temporary to permanent, with opportunities to interface with auditors and manage specialized government contracts. Strong Excel skills and nonprofit accounting experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting with 3–5 years’ experience submitting vouchers and claims to government agencies.
• Not-for-profit fund accounting experience.
• Organized, self-motivated with strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manages a portfolio of contracts and grants with NYC/NYS government agencies.
• Prepares proposals, budgets, budget modifications, and financial analysis.
• Analyzes each grant monthly to ensure data accuracy for claims.
• Manages allocation of personal services and OTPS to contracts.
• Performs budget variance reviews for program management.
• Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports for government contracts.
• Collects funds from grantors and reconciles accounts receivable.
• Interfaces with auditors and reports to executive management.
• Provides timely follow-up on information requests.
