Job summary

The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking an NSHE Specialist 1 to support the First-Generation Student Center. This role applies expert knowledge of grant regulations and budgeting to manage accounts and reporting, including cost analyses and award setups.

Responsibilities include audits support, HR oversight for the department, and handling travel, purchasing, and staff supervision. A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) is required with related experience in a university setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with 1 year of relevant experience, OR
• High school or equivalent with 3 years of program support experience including laws and records.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may apply.

Responsibilities

• Budget forecasts and monthly reconciliation of all accounts.
• Set up new awards and annual budgets; close out grant cycles.
• Prepare monthly and annual cost reports and analyze variances.
• Support audits and provide required financial data; oversee HR tasks for department.
• Manage travel, purchasing, inventory, and staff supervision for student workers.
