Job summary

The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking a Research Administrator, Pre-Award to support faculty and staff in obtaining and managing sponsored funding for research and related activities.

Responsibilities include proposal review, RFP processing, and ensuring compliance and fiscal accountability for public funds; the role also interacts with federal agencies, foundations and industry partners. Overnight travel may be required occasionally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and two years of related work experience; OR Master’s Degree and one year of related work experience
• Related Experience: Administration or research compliance or a related field

Responsibilities

• Assist faculty and staff in seeking and managing sponsored funding for research, service projects and other creative activities.
• Ensure programmatic and fiscal accountability for stewardship of public funds.
• Serve as liaison between the University and federal agencies, foundations, private industry, state and local agencies.
• Assist faculty with proposal review and processing of RFPs to determine sponsor regulatory requirements, and submission methods.
• Complete initial review of proposals prior to signature; may approve proposals and contracts when time constraints apply.
