Job summary

Athens-Clarke County Unified Government is seeking an Accounting Analyst II to maintain accurate financial records for Housing and Community Development and to perform data analysis on grant programs. The role requires managing IDIS-based grant requests, journal entries, and financial reporting in support of HUD compliance.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Business Administrative Technology, Accounting, or equivalent field of study; with three years of accounting or secretarial experience.
• Ability to work with HUD grants and related financial systems.
• Familiarity with IDIS, LOCCS, and HUD reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records for Housing and Community Development.
• Monitor grant funding and financial records; assist with tracking program accomplishments.
• Utilize HUD's IDIS for completing grant requests and reporting.
• Prepare journal entries and financial statements to ensure accurate reporting to HUD.
• Assist with quarterly budget review to align expenditures with grant budgets.
• Support CBDG and HOME fund tracking in IDIS and related systems.
• Coordinate reimbursements from federal and state agencies for grants.
• Assist with sub-recipients’ financial records and HUD compliance.
• Prepare responses to HUD audit findings and support procurement reviews.
• Assist biweekly payroll processing and accounts payable activities.
