Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County is seeking a diligent Accountant to maintain accounting records and analyze data for Housing & Community Development. The role includes monitoring grant funds, updating financial records, and assisting with HUD IDIS grant requests.

The position requires an Associates degree in a related field and at least three years of accounting or secretarial experience, plus a valid driver’s license. Hybrid remote work is available after the probationary period.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate degree in Business Administrative Technology, Accounting, or equivalent; three years accounting or secretarial experience.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Hybrid remote work eligibility after probation.
• FLSA Status: Non-Exempt. Reports to Program Support Analyst II.

Responsabilités

• Maintain accurate accounting records and perform data analysis for Housing & Community Development.
• Monitor grant funding and financial records; assist with tracking program accomplishments.
• Utilize HUD IDIS to complete grant requests and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Prepare journal entries and financial statements; assist with annual reports and program budgets.
• Support submission of Consolidated Plans, Annual Action Plans, and CAPERs.
