Job summary

Orange County Government’s Neighborhood Services Division is seeking a qualified Program Coordinator to administer grant and outreach programs. This professional role plans, coordinates, and manages division programs with independence under supervision.

The position handles outreach, education, workshops, and community events, including evening meetings, with a focus on compliance, reporting, and collaboration with residents and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and one year of experience in program management, human resource services, public services or working with citizens coordinating projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and coordinates division programs related to grants and outreach as part of the Beautification and Engagement Team in the Community, Development, and Outreach Section.
• Researches, analyzes, and evaluates programs, projects, and operational procedures.
• Assists with outreach to market the grants and shepherds grants through the approval process and works with residents, stakeholders and vendors to implement projects.
• Assists with administering the division's education and outreach programs to include workshops, community cleanups, etc.
• Attends evening meetings, community meetings and occasionally attend community events on the weekends.
• Investigates conflicts, provides recommendations for resolution, and coordinates with grant recipients and County divisions to ensure any necessary permits are obtained.
• Monitors vendor contracts and internal purchasing functions to ensure compliance with County regulations.
• Collaborates with internal divisions and acts as a liaison with external agencies and organizations.
• Maintains files and statistical reports related to this program.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
