Job summary

The Orange County Housing Department is seeking a Street Outreach Specialist to work with individuals living unsheltered, connecting them with housing and services. The role focuses on building relationships, providing case management, advocacy, and referrals to appropriate agencies, with supervision under the Housing Helpline & Outreach Coordinator.

This time-limited, fully benefited position requires outdoor rounds, some evenings and weekends, and travel within Orange County.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a human services field or social work and two years of human services work experience or equivalent.
• People with lived experience of homelessness are preferred.
• Bi-lingual applicants are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with individuals living unsheltered to connect them with housing and other services.
• Provide case management, advocacy, and referrals to agencies.
• Perform duties with independence within program policies, ensuring client needs are met.
