Job summary

Phoenix Union High School District 210 is seeking a Budget Specialist to manage, monitor, and report on all grant funds. The role collaborates with district staff to optimize budget usage and ensure compliance with state, federal, and private grant requirements.

Responsibilities include preparing grant budgets, overseeing expenditures, and generating comprehensive financial reports for review by program directors and the Governing Board.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent; Associate's degree in Accounting or related field; Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred; AND four years of accounting or budget management experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs financial administration and oversight for grant-related programs; prepares budgets and reports.
• Guides program managers on grants, contracts, and budget alignment.
• Monitors and inputs ADE grant data and prepares required reports.
• Reviews grant expenditures and ensures coding and budget capacity.
• Maintains expenditure budgets in the general ledger and balances funds.
• Prepares budget adjustments and annual federal abstracts.
• Prepares, interprets and presents budget reports and analyses.
• Performs complex financial analysis and coordinates with IT for fiscal system matters.
• Ensures proper documentation for grant expenditures and timekeeping.
