Job summary

The Georgia Department of Public Health is seeking an Informatics Business Support Analyst 3 to support grant budgeting and financial reporting for PHIG components.

Under broad supervision, you will analyze budgets, monitor ledgers, prepare reports, and coordinate with program managers to ensure funds align with approved activities. This role offers benefits and opportunities within a dynamic public health environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with grant budgeting, grant expenditures monitoring, and ensuring expenses align with approved budgets.
• Experience preparing budget reports, financial summaries, forecasts, and management reports.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to analyze financial data.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
• Ability to proficiently use state accounting and financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Review grant policies and CDC guidelines to ensure proposed activities align with PHIG components.
• Maintain and update program workbooks for each grant component to accurately track budgets, expenditures, and available funding.
• Monitor the General Ledger for inconsistencies and discrepancies, coordinate corrections, and update program workbooks accordingly.
• Regularly analyze Grant in Aid, General Ledger reports, Labor Distribution reports, and Encumbrance reports, to support financial monitoring and budget management.
• Develop monthly budget reports for the program.
• Provide financial reports, budget analysis, and requested information to support program planning and leadership decisions.
• Compile budget data for annual reporting, NCC data tables, and Federal Financial Reports (FFRs).
• Develop and maintain PHIG budgets for multiple programs, facilitate quarterly budget reviews, and incorporate reallocations.
• Lead monthly collaboration with programs to review expenditures and update PHIG budgets.
• Coordinate fund reallocations with PHIG programs and update budgets to reflect approved changes.
