Job summary

The University of California, Irvine is seeking a finance professional to manage the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation’s fiscal functions, including budgeting, financial analysis, contracts and grants, and payroll certifications.

The role requires strong accounting knowledge, experience with journals and fund transfers, and the ability to work with physicians, Principal Investigators, and staff across levels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/training is required.
  • Strong knowledge of CAS, accounting principles, and cost accounting standards.
  • Experience with processing financial journals and fund transfers.
  • Familiarity with NIH policies governing research and OMB A-21/A-133.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial analysis and reporting on all department funds, budgeting, projections and fiscal close functions.
  • Establish and maintain complex financial control and reporting systems.
  • Administer department payroll certifications and manage contracts and grants.
  • Propose innovative fiscal solutions to the CAO and department finance team.
