This hybrid telework position may require overtime and statewide travel to conduct workshops and training.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Supervisor I, the Analyst II will perform a variety of complex, technical, and varied analytical and evaluative work relating to the provision of the nonprofit security grants within Cal OES. They will function in a demanding and changing environment, which requires effectively maintaining a routine workload and regularly respond to short-term tasks. They review, analyze, process, and prepare responses to a variety of forms, documents, and correspondence pertaining to nonprofit security grants. Required to meet legal, regulatory, and internal deadlines on all assignments. In addition is responsible for formulating procedures, policies, and program alternatives, making recommendations on program-related issues, and advising management on the potential impact. They are required to travel throughout the state and conduct workshop presentations. May be required to work overtime as necessary in support of Cal OES program objectives.

Working Conditions

Hybrid Telework:

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. Additional in office days may be required based on the business need.

DMV Pull Program:

Participation in the DMV Pull Program is required. The position(s) require(s) a valid Driver’s License (DL). You must answer the questions addressing your DL on your application. Ensure you provide your DL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.

The Finance & Logistics Administration Directorate oversees sections managing Cal OES operations including budgeting, fiscal analysis, accounting, grants management, human resources, labor relations, staff recruitment, examinations, organization and professional development, disaster and internal logistics support. The Directorate is comprised of four sections: Administrative Services, Human Resources, Grants Management and Logistics.

In the event of an emergency, employees may be contacted and requested to report to work in the event of an emergency. This contact may be outside of your normal working hours (evenings/nights, weekends, and holidays). This service may require irregular work hours, work locations other than the official duty location, and may include duties other than those specified in your official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and you may be required to relocate to emergency sites.
