UAB Grants Administrator Specialist-SOE in the University is a key member of the School of Engineering’s research support team, focusing on pre- and post-award administration and the proposal submission process for faculty in accordance with sponsor guidelines and UAB policies.

The role includes budgeting, budget justification, indirect cost calculation, and liaison across internal and external stakeholders, with a strong emphasis on onboarding and training of research personnel, and is Hybrid

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience required.

Responsabilités

• Prepares, refines, reviews and submits sponsored research proposals to the Office of Sponsored Programs on behalf of the school’s faculty.
• Calculates personnel effort and develops budgets and budget justifications; determines indirect costs and exclusions.
• L liaises with sponsor agencies, sub-award sites, internal groups, leadership, faculty and staff.
• Reviews drafts of grant components and completes required forms and approvals for submission.
• Maintains repository of submissions and tracks award activity; provides onboarding and training materials.
