Job summary

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a Grants Administrator-SOE to provide pre and post award grants support and operational management of same in the School of Engineering. This role serves as the primary interface to investigators and university offices to ensure timely submission of proposals and effective post-award management.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and seven (7) years of related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Manages research grants administration for the School of Engineering, leads contact to faculty and offices.
• Prepares and submits sponsored research proposals to Office of Sponsored Programs, drafts budgets and cost allocations.
• Reviews grant components, completes required forms, and ensures timely submission.
• Oversees post award activities across the life cycle, allocates costs, reconciles accounts and prepares invoices.
• Ensures compliance with laws and policies, manages services efficiently to ensure satisfaction.
• Serves as Department Effort Officer (DEO) and oversees effort reporting certification.
• Participates in research administration committees and meetings.
• Provides onboarding training and maintains procedures; prepares financial and activity reports.
• Interviews, hires, trains, and evaluates staff; performs other duties as assigned.
• Annual Salary: $63,875 - $103,800
