Job summary

Aspire Chicago, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering people with disabilities, is seeking a Manager, Grants Accounting to lead compliance for externally funded programs. You will ensure federal, state, and local grant funds are managed in accordance with 2 CFR Part 200 and related regulations, partnering with program directors to uphold rigorous controls.

In this role you will prepare audit documentation, coordinate with external auditors, and build robust grant oversight practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in grants administration, audit, or compliance.
• Strong knowledge of federal grant regulations, including OMB guidance and 2 CFR Part 200.
• Proficiency in financial management systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• CPA, CGAP, or similar professional certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee grant compliance to ensure regulatory adherence.
• Maintain Grant Manual and compliance protocols.
• Monitor grant deadlines and reporting schedules.
• Prepare documentation for external audits and liaison with auditors.
• Coordinate responses to audit inquiries and address findings.
• Support departments in compliant grant budgeting and financial practices.
