Baltimore County is seeking an Accountant II (Housing and Community Development) to perform professional accounting for the Housing Choice Voucher Program and related grants. You will assist with general ledger maintenance, HAP processing, and financial reporting for county and federal grant obligations.

Responsibilities include preparing detailed reports, ensuring accurate accounts payable and vendor payments, and supporting audits and year-end close procedures within a compliance-focused

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Two years' professional experience in Accounting or Auditing.
  • Education or experience substitutions allowed as described in the posting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate accounting records for grant funding sources and HCVP operations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual grant and financial reports.
  • Process Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) and monitor vendor payments.
  • Reconcile accounts and assist with audits and the HUD Two-Year Tool.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for federal grants.
