Job summary

Del Mar College is seeking to fill a Grant Writing Instructor Pool to teach courses as needed across various times and locations. Responsibilities include grant research, writing, implementation, curriculum development, and delivering accessible syllabi and assessments.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least five years of related experience. This is a non-exempt, part-time, hourly position with a minimum pay of $25.00 per hour and is open until filled.

Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills to communicate via email, input final student grades into WebDMC, input hours worked and conduct presentations as needed.

  • Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students with differing educational backgrounds.
  • Evaluate students to measure progress toward course outcomes within college policy.

This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill part-time, temporary, hourly assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or Divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises. Job Description Summary

The purpose of this position is to teach assigned courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need.
The following are responsibilities of the Grant Writing Instructor:
• Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the area of grant research, writing and implementation.
• Make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction.
• Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students who have differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting the course outcomes.
• Maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.
• Evaluate students to measure their progress toward achievement of stated course outcomes within college policy and procedures.
• Review, evaluate, recommend, and effectively use student learning materials.
• Provide students with a written and accessible course syllabus that follows the Course Syllabus Guidelines and facilitates a clear understanding between student and instructor of the content, goals, requirements, expectations, evaluation methods and schedule of work.
• Maintain daily attendance rosters. Submit final hard copies of daily attendance rosters and grade sheets to the Continuing Education Department.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
Five (5) years related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Two (2) years teaching or training experience.
Experience developing lesson plans and curriculum.
