Job summary

Lincoln University in Lincoln University, PA seeks an Accountant in the Controller's Office to ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting, maintain the general ledger, and contribute to timely monthly and annual closes, including journal entries and reconciliations.

You will prepare working papers and financial reports for audits and external agencies, and coordinate grant drawdowns with Research & Programs offices.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; three years related experience preferred.
• Must communicate effectively with people from varied backgrounds.
• Must be able to work without constant supervision, make decisions and exercise good judgment.
• Must handle multiple tasks and projects and prioritize based on departmental functionality.
• Must be detail oriented with the ability to organize and maintain confidentiality.
• Strong mathematical, verbal and written skills; proficient with Excel and accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure integrity of internal and external financial reports and the general ledger in conformance to GAAP.
• Support timely monthly and annual close processes including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Monitor cash activity.
• Prepare working papers and financial reports for audits and external agencies.
• Process drawdowns of Title III and Title IV funds and reconcile to the general ledger.
• Coordinate with the Office of Sponsored Research & Programs to set up grant budgets and manage grant invoicing.
