Baystate Health is seeking an experienced Research Project Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of large-scale, externally funded research initiatives, including NIH-funded projects in Springfield, MA.

This grant-funded position requires coordinating research activities, managing budgets, reporting, and fostering collaboration across sites and investigators. The role includes leading research teams, ensuring quality, and supporting dissemination of findings.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience in health research, education activities, or related work.
• Strong theoretical and analytic abilities with abstract thinking.
• Proven ability to solve problems and foster collaboration between investigators and institutions.
• Expertise in data management and qualitative/quantitative analysis.
• Excellent oral and written communication with funding agencies and sites.
• Willingness to travel locally and nationally for data collection and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead Research Operations: coordinate all phases of assigned projects, including recruitment, screening, data collection and management.
• Manage Budgets and Grants: monitor expenditures, budgets, and reports.
• Oversee Reporting: prepare quarterly and annual progress reports for external funding agencies.
• Coordinate Research Partnerships: maintain collaborations with sites, investigators, subcontractors, and consultants.
• Lead Project Teams: recruit, supervise, and evaluate research personnel and interns.
• Support Research Quality: address protocol issues and ensure compliance with requirements.
• Advance Data Analysis: participate in qualitative/quantitative analyses and train team members.
• Facilitate Collaboration: plan steering committees and data analysis meetings.
• Develop Research Resources: design self-guided and multimedia educational materials.
• Contribute to Publications: assist in manuscript development and study design.
• Support Study Development: conduct formative and pilot studies including focus groups.
• Provide Leadership Support: back up PI and act as designee when appropriate.
