Job summary

Washington County Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional Reading/Math Intervention Tutor at Potomac Heights Elementary School on a grant-funded basis. The position starts at $19.26 per hour with potential earnings up to $34.84 on the ESP Salary Scale.

It runs 7 hours per day, 10 months per year and reports to the Literacy Achievement Coordinator. The role focuses on addressing unfinished learning in reading and math, providing screening, targeted and explicit intervention, and progress

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED or higher.
A.A. degree in early childhood education, behavioral sciences, developmental education or similar preferred.
Experience with reading and/or math interventions is desirable.

Responsibilities

Administer universal screening assessments as assigned.
Work with school teams to implement action plans that accelerate literacy and math achievement.
Provide explicit and targeted intervention to at-risk students.
Maintain records of progress and support provided in a timely fashion.
Maintain confidentiality of student, family, and school information.
Participate in school and district professional development activities.
Develop effective communication and working relationships with students, school teams, and the district.
Demonstrate courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders of Washington County Public Schools.
Other duties as requested by the Literacy Achievement Coordinator.
