Job summary

Washington County Public Schools seeks a Paraprofessional Behavior Support at Western Heights Middle School. The role focuses on assisting with individual students and small groups, providing behavior and emotional support, and helping students reach personal objectives in a 10-month school year, 7 hours per day.

The position starts at $19.26 per hour with potential earnings to $34.84 per hour on the ESP Salary Scale, plus a 10% program differential for licensed experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years experience with behavioral issues or equivalent education/experience.
• Ability to lift 30–50 pounds and participate in physical restraint when needed.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce skills for individual students and small groups.
• Help students generalize social skills in the general education setting.
• Participate in crisis response and de-escalation as part of the team.
• Maintain CPI certification and support classroom organization.
• Assist with supervision and basic care as appropriate.
