Job summary

The Electrocardiography (EKG) course instructor pool at Del Mar College will provide high quality instruction in cardiovascular technology fundamentals across multiple times and locations to meet institutional needs.

The instructor will cover anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system, basic electrocardiography procedures, rhythm interpretation, and appropriate treatment modalities while maintaining a positive and safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• Certification in related field and/or High School Diploma/GED.
• Five (5) years related work experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Efficient computer skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

The purpose of this position is to provide high quality instruction and maintain a positive, safe learning environment for all students by instructing assigned courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need. The Electrocardiography ( EKG ) course will target students who are interested in learning the fundamentals of becoming a cardiovascular technician.
The instructor will demonstrate the fundamentals of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology. Includes basic electrocardiography procedures, interpretation of basic dysrhythmias, and appropriate treatment modalities, describe the anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system; perform basic electrocardiography procedures; and interpret basic dysrhythmias.

Minimum Qualifications

Certification in related field and/or High School Diploma/ GED .

Five (5 ) years related work experience.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

Two (2) years teaching or training experience.
Experience developing lesson plans, classroom management, and curriculum.
