Job summary

Umpqua Community College seeks an Early College Advisor to help high school students turn dual credit and early college opportunities into a clear path toward college, career, and transfer.

The role partners with high schools, counselors, and community partners across Douglas County to support admissions, registration, and college planning. Frequent travel is required, and the position is grant-funded through June 30, 2028.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent education/experience required.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and community partners.
  • Organize, manage, and independently carry out projects and activities.
  • Proficiency with technology used for communication, record keeping, and data management.
  • Valid driver’s license and eligibility for vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide information and support for dual credit, Expanded Options, and Career Academy programs in Douglas County high schools.
  • Assist students and families with admissions, registration, and college processes.
  • Build positive relationships with students through mentorship and advising.
  • Provide transfer advising and information for university pathways.
  • Develop educational plans and course recommendations for dual credit/Expanded Options students.
  • Travel to area high schools and work with counselors, teachers, and community partners.
  • Support career exploration events and College exposure initiatives.
  • Assist with grant-related data collection and reporting.
  • Follow up with students and partners via text, email, and mailings.
