Job summary

Charleston co. is seeking an Accountant I in South Carolina to support the Senior Finance Officer with technical oversight, financial analysis, and routine accounting duties within the Community Development and Revitalization department.

You will assist with grant management, GAAP compliance, payroll processing, and payment transactions in One Solution, contributing to accurate, auditable financial records and meaningful public-facing reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience in a Financial position.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
• Valid SC Driver’s license or ability to obtain within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist data entry in grant management systems and reconcile to OneSolution.
• Prepare financial reports per 2 CFR Part 200 and HUD requirements.
• Ensure accounting systems operate correctly and resolve errors.
• Maintain GAAP knowledge for local government reporting.
• Support payroll and create purchase orders in One Solution.
• Participate in community engagement and other duties as assigned.
