You will oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes, prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements, and guide staff accountants and analysts.

The role emphasizes process improvements, internal controls, audits, and collaboration with senior leadership to drive accurate budgeting and forecasting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field is required.
• CPA or progress towards CPA is strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5–7 years progressive accounting experience with month-end/ year-end closes.
• Solid understanding of GAAP; governmental & fund accounting experience.
• Experience preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Proficiency in Excel and cloud-based ERP/accounting systems such as Intacct or NetSuite.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare, review, and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and grant reimbursements.
• Provide day-to-day technical oversight to Staff Accountant and Financial Analyst.
• Analyze financial data to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decisions.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal accounting policies; strengthen controls and processes.
• Coordinate with external auditors and support management reporting for leadership.
