Job summary

Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) is seeking a Development Manager to lead donor communications, grant proposals, and reporting in a hybrid Bay Area role. You will support CEO and Executive Directors by coordinating deadlines, preparing materials, and tracking fundraising progress.

You will help shape the organization’s fundraising narrative, manage the Salesforce donor database, and collaborate with finance on budgets and reports.

Qualifications

• Experience managing nonprofit fundraising and donor reporting.
• Ability to coordinate multiple grant deadlines and funder communications.
• Strong written and verbal communication for diverse audiences.
• Knowledge of grants management, proposal development, and reporting.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to BACR’s mission and community impact.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate grant calendars, deadlines, donor touchpoints, campaigns and events.
• Schedule donor, funder and prospect meetings for the CEO and Directors.
• Prepare meeting agendas, briefing materials, and blurbs; capture notes and follow‑ups.
• Support outreach, draft proposals, letters of inquiry, applications and reports.
• Draft emails and communications to funders to advance fundraising efforts.
• Maintain boilerplate language, program descriptions, budgets, and attachments.
• Collaborate with Contracts on tracking grants from research to renewal.
• Contribute to the org-wide fundraising narrative with data and citations.
• Develop and maintain Salesforce donor database; generate reports.
• Coordinate development initiatives including major gifts and planned giving.
• Foster a culture of philanthropy and support program staff in fundraising.
