Job summary

The Claremont Colleges Services is seeking a dedicated Sponsored Research Coordinator to provide administrative and research‑development support to faculty, coordinate pre‑award activities, ensure proposal compliance, and translate grant language into accessible impact summaries for Advancement colleagues.

Responsibilities include managing proposal portals (Grants.gov, ProposalCentral, Research.gov, eRA Commons), budgeting support, tracking deadlines, and maintaining a centralized grant

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
  • Experience in research development or federal grant portals is preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal regulations (Uniform Guidance) and federally funded projects.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication; experience producing newsletters/reports.
  • Ability to interpret grant solicitations and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with budget development and management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist grant seekers with documentation and deadline reminders.
  • Upload and manage proposals using Grants.gov, ProposalCentral, Research.gov, and eRA Commons.
  • Support proposal budgeting and review of institutional boilerplate language.
  • Track funding opportunities, proposal deadlines, routing approvals, and faculty projects with donor relevance.
  • Maintain a grant-related index and translate grant language into impact summaries.
  • Update and preserve a centralized repository of grant submission materials and policies.
  • Draft annual sponsored research reports and support stewardship tasks.
  • Perform other essential duties as assigned.
