Job description

Position Summary

The incumbent will be responsible for research administrative coordination and will report directly to the Director of Business Administration.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist in post-award research transactions and close-out.
  2. Process monthly research journal entries; review and process clinical research financial transactions.
  3. Assist in preparation of financial reports.
  4. Liaise between the pre- and post- research award offices.
  5. Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
  6. Assist with research sponsored project salary allocations and effort reporting processes.
  7. Ensure that budget lines are valid for all procurement transactions by collaborating with Finance Directors and Divisional Administrators on appropriate ChartStrings.
  8. Assist in the preparation, review, and renewal of grants, contracts, and subcontract proposals.
  9. Prepare grant proposals and subcontracts for all sponsored research projects.
  10. Assist with sponsored project setup and budget line items per award notice on all grants and contracts, including reconciling and analyzing specific activity on sponsored projects.
  11. Manage active project progress deadlines and assist with filing of annual reports.
  12. Coordinate the annual effort reporting compliance and the certification process.
  13. Coordinate quarterly meetings with research Principal Investigators to monitor grant submissions.
  14. Assist in special projects as needed.
  15. Monitor and respond to urgent financial transaction requests.
  16. Perform other departmental administrative duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent in education and experience.
Other Requirements
  • The ability to take initiative and work independently is required.
  • Good interpersonal skills are highly important.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
