Job summary

Temple University's Research Administration Department is seeking a Grant Analyst I to join a growing team. You will reconcile, manage, report, and analyze grant budgets and expenditures across contracts and multi-year programs, collaborating with campus departments and external sponsors to ensure accurate financial accounting.

The role emphasizes applying rules for sponsored agreements and GAAP to support Temple's research funding portfolio. Remote work discretion is provided by the department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least two years' related finance/accounting experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize online financial systems.
• Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite including spreadsheets and databases.
• Strong analytic skills and ability to work with large financial data sets.

Responsibilities

• Manage externally sponsored agreements and ensure accurate financial data processing.
• Set up, maintain and close out sponsored awards and budgets.
• Input approved budgets into Banner Finance and adjust during the award life.
• Review ERS to confirm salaries are charged to awards correctly.
• Identify variances, run queries and generate financial reports.
• Complete periodic financial reporting and reconciliation.
• Review and manage billing for sponsored awards and assist training as needed.
