City of Detroit is seeking an Accountant II within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer’s Grant Accounting Division. The role handles accounting data preparation, analysis, and reporting to support timely financial statements. The candidate will work with ERP Cloud modules, complete reporting templates, and develop cost analyses.

Strong knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and grant management is essential. This on-site position offers growth within municipal accounting.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field with at least 24 semester credits in accounting and statistics
• Two years of experience in preparing journal entries and analyzing accounting data
• CPA or CMA certification preferred; substitution rules may apply for some experience

Responsabilidades

• Prepare, analyze, interpret, and present accounting data and reports
• Post journal entries; reconcile payroll and general ledger payroll data
• Maintain and modify accounting systems; support internal controls and audits
• Prepare and audit Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) and related schedules
