The Grant Accounting Manager supports a growing grants portfolio and serves as a key partner to grants leadership, overseeing financial management, billing, and compliance across city, state, federal, and private funding sources. This role manages grant accounting operations, supervises staff, and ensures accurate and timely reporting within a complex multi-funded environment.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing grant billing and financial reporting, with a strong focus on municipal funding and PASSport billing requirements
- Managing grant budget development, modifications, and financial modeling
- Preparing journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and allocation analyses
- Supervising and mentoring Grant Accountants while serving as a technical resource for complex accounting matters
- Supporting month-end and year-end close, audits, and compliance requirements
- Presenting budget and financial updates to accounting leadership and program stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 5+ years of grant accounting experience, including city or municipal funding
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost allocations, and government grant compliance
- Experience with PASSport or similar grant billing systems strongly preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Compensation: $95,000
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
