Job summary

POET Grain is seeking a Scale Technician to operate grain scales and computer systems, ensuring inbound and outbound grain quality. This on-site role is based in Iowa Falls, IA, with responsibilities spanning scale operations, contract administration, and supporting grain origination activities.

The successful candidate will grade grain quality, process tickets, and assist with accounting tasks while maintaining strong customer service for external customers and haulers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–5 years of administrative, accounting, or agriculture customer service experience preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication, organization, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate grain scales and computer systems.
• Accurately grade all quality factors of inbound grains.
• Apply scale tickets to contracts and maintain audit-ready files.
• Set up new accounts in the grain accounting system.
• Provide accounting support to Grain Merchandisers.
• Maintain a clean work area and assist with general duties.
• Provide excellent customer service to external customers and grain haulers.
