Job summary

Central Valley Ag, a farmer-owned cooperative, seeks a Grain Specialist in Elgin, NE. You will originate grain, build a customer base, and perform on-farm sales to deliver value through CVA’s risk management tools and market insights.

You will work with the grain division to promote cross-selling and maintain CRM records while upholding CVA’s brand and values. Strong analytical and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Agriculture, Agribusiness or related field.
• Have or be able to get a Series 3 license.
• Proven background in profitably purchasing grain from farmers and commercial elevators for ethanol production.
• Clear understanding of grain marketing including hedging, basis analysis and flat pricing grain.
• Demonstrates leadership skills and high integrity.
• Solid business profit management experience.

Responsibilities

• Originate grain in accordance with Central Valley Ag’s overall position utilizing merchandising principles and risk management tools.
• Establish/develop a customer base with strategic customers and prospects through direct personal contact in an assigned territory.
• Conduct on farm sales calls that identify customer needs and engage in whole farm solutions.
• Educate producers on CVA risk management tools to mitigate risk for their operations.
• Maintain accurate records using CVA’s CRM tool for all sales and prospecting activities.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Agriculture, Agribusiness or related field
