Cargill, Inc in Sidney, Ohio, seeks a Grain Origination Merchant to link farmer customers with our customer facing strategy. You will translate regional cash market knowledge into timely, competitive offerings across corn, soybean, and wheat, supporting operations and ensuring profitability.

The role is hybrid with routine office commutes to Bloomingburg or Sidney, OH, and requires strong relationship building and market insight. Relevant experience in grain sales is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of related work experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Commercial or grain sales experience preferred.
• Understanding of basic production agriculture principles.

We also offer a range of farmer services and risk management solutions.**Job Purpose and Impact**The Grain Origination Merchant will represent the critical link between farmer customers and the company's customer facing strategy. In this role, you will translate regional and local cash commodity market knowledge into timely and competitive service offerings for customers. This role will primarily support operations involving corn, soybean, and wheat products.**Key Accountabilities*** Develop and maintain relationships with farmer customers.* Focus on competitively positioning commodity offers in local cash markets to efficiently source them through our facilities while focusing on maximizing profitability for both customers and the company.* Develop a deep understanding of the basic market access needs desired by customers in the segment and work to quickly adapt to changes in these needs with shifts in local cash markets.* Collaborate with internal sales, merchandising, customer service and operations teams to meet customer needs efficiently and in a manner which is tightly linked to regional and local cash market strategies.* Enable an efficient and effective customer experience through utilizing our systems and digital offerings.* Consistently identify and communicate customer insights back into the business unit that can be utilized to create and enhance standardized customer segment value propositions, as well as overall business strategy development.* Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.* Other duties as assigned**Qualifications****Minimum qualifications**- Minimum of two years of related work experience**Preferred qualification*** Bachelor's degree in a related field* Commercial or grain sales experience* Understanding of basic production agriculture principles**Position Information*** This is hybrid role that requires commuting to the office in Bloomingburg or Sidney, Ohio 3 times per week.* Benefits package includes: Paid time off; paid holidays; medical, vision and dental coverage; flexible spending accounts; life insurance; disability insurance; retirement savings; employee and family assistance program (EAP).
