Job summary

Western Grain Marketing LLC is seeking a Grain Handler Technician in Stronghurst, Illinois. The role involves safely handling, storing, and moving grain within a grain facility, operating conveyors, augers, elevators, and dryers.

You will maintain storage systems and ensure safety and quality standards while supporting shipping and receiving activities. Responsibilities include quality checks, inventory monitoring, and maintaining clean, organized work areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; agriculture experience is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Basic math and computer literacy for records and inventory.
• Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to operate and maintain equipment.
• Forklift or heavy machinery certification.
• Must be able to lift and move heavy objects; physical labor.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and load grain using conveyors, augers, and elevators.
• Operate and maintain grain handling machinery including dryers and storage systems.
• Conduct quality checks on grain for moisture, weight, and specs.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper storage practices.
• Clean and maintain grain bins, pits, and work areas for safety and hygiene.
• Assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Comply with safety regulations and PPE requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of grain shipments, inventory and operations.
