Western Grain Marketing LLC in Illinois is seeking a Grain Handler Technician to safely handle, store, and move grain and related products within a grain facility. You will operate conveyors and equipment, perform quality checks, monitor inventory, maintain clean storage areas, and support shipping, receiving, and safety compliance.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver's license, basic math and computer skills, and the ability to lift heavy objects in all weather

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or prior experience in agriculture or related field.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Basic math and computer skills for record-keeping and inventory management.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate machinery.
• Ability to operate, maintain, and repair agricultural equipment safely and effectively.
• Certification in forklift or heavy machinery operation.
• Role involves physical labor including lifting and moving heavy objects.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Commitment to safety guidelines and regulations.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and outside normal hours as needed.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• High integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
• Provide exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and load grain using conveyors, augers, and elevators.
• Operate and maintain grain handling machinery, including dryers and storage systems.
• Conduct quality checks on grain for moisture, weight, and other specs.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper storage practices.
• Clean and maintain grain bins, pits, and work areas to meet safety standards.
• Assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Comply with safety regulations, including PPE usage.
• Maintain accurate records of grain shipments, inventory, and operations.
