Prairieland FS, Inc. in Woodhull, IL is seeking a Grain Handler Technician to safely manage grain handling, storage, and related operations in a grain facility.

You will operate conveyors, augers, and elevators, perform quality checks, and maintain storage systems to support grain processing, shipping, and receiving. The role requires physical labor, valid driver's license, basic math/computer skills, and forklift certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or prior experience in agriculture or related field.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Basic math and computer skills for record-keeping and inventory management.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate machinery.
• Ability to operate, maintain, and repair agricultural equipment safely and effectively.
• Certification in forklift or heavy machinery operation.
• Physical labor capability, including lifting heavy objects.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Commitment to safety guidelines and regulations.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and outside normal hours.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and load grain using conveyors, augers, and elevators.
• Operate and maintain grain handling machinery, including dryers and storage systems.
• Conduct quality checks on grain for moisture, weight, and other specs.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper storage practices.
• Clean and maintain grain bins, pits, and work areas to meet safety standards.
• Assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Comply with safety regulations, including PPE use.
• Maintain accurate records of grain shipments, inventory, and operations.

Education
