Job summary

Western Grain Marketing LLC in Illinois seeks a Grain Handler Technician to safely handle, store, and move grain inside our facility. You will operate conveyors, elevators, dryers, and storage systems while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, basic math and computer skills, forklift certification, and the ability to work independently or in a team in varying weather and hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or related experience.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
• Basic math and computer skills for record-keeping and inventory management.
• Strong mechanical aptitude to operate machinery safely.
• Certification in forklift or heavy machinery operation.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety guidelines.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in varying weather and hours.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and load grain using conveyors, augers, and elevators.
• Operate and maintain grain handling machinery, including dryers and storage systems.
• Conduct quality checks on grain for moisture, weight, and specifications.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper storage practices.
• Clean grain bins, pits, and work areas to meet safety standards.
• Assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Comply with safety regulations and PPE usage.
• Maintain accurate records of grain shipments and inventory.
