Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a hands-on grain facility worker to assist with scheduling, safety programs, and record keeping under the facility manager. You will perform grain weighing, loading/unloading, and inventory control to ensure quality and profitability.

The role requires adherence to safety policies, ability to work independently and in a team, and willingness to work extended weekday and weekend hours during harvest seasons. Environmental compliance is part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Understand and comply with all safety policies and practices.
• Verbal and written communication skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Weigh and grade inbound/outbound grain to meet SFD specifications.
• Operate loading/unloading equipment for grain shipments/receipts.
• Inspect grain facilities daily to ensure equipment condition.
• Assist in scheduling logistics for inbound/outbound grain.
• Maintain and manage inventories to maximize profitability and blending.
• Identify problems or improvements and work with supervisor to resolve.
• Interact with customers daily.
• Assist in implementing safety programs and environmental procedures.
• Review the company emergency notification process.
