Job summary

Bartlett in Atchison, KS is seeking an Elevator Operator to join our grain handling team. This 2nd‑shift role runs 2:45pm–10:45pm, Monday–Friday, with ample overtime including weekends.

You will operate conveyors and legs, handle bulk commodities, and ensure safe, efficient receiving, storage and loading of grain. Responsibilities include monitoring grain condition, maintaining facilities, and staying safety‑conscious at all times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Read, write, understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English.
• Available to work overtime and weekends.
• Pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, handle, dry, blend, and load grain.
• Monitor stored grain condition.
• Maintain and clean grain facilities and equipment.
• Cross‑train to perform a variety of tasks.

The Basics

Location: Atchison, KS

Compensation: $23/hr and up

Days/Hours: This job will be 2nd shift, 2:45pm-10:45pm, M-F with ample overtime, including weekends.

Equipment Used: Various grain handling equipment, mainly conveyors and legs

Material Handled: Bulk commodities: wheat, corn, soybeans, etc

What You’ll Be Doing

The duties of this hands‑on job will include grain receiving, storage, handling, drying, blending, and loading of grain; monitoring stored grain condition; and maintaining and cleaning grain facilities and equipment to provide a safe environment for you and fellow Team Members. Grain Elevator Operators will be cross‑trained to perform a variety of tasks.

Requirements To Be Successful In This Position

• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation
• For safety reasons, must be able to read, write, understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English
• Available to work overtime and weekends
• Professional demeanor (safety conscious, quality of job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communications)
• Able to pass a criminal background check
