Job summary

Jacksonville State University is seeking a Graduate Administrative Assistant in the English Department to support student writers through tutoring and editing. You will work up to 20 hours per week, provide Zoom or in-person tutoring, and assist with writing-center tasks, social media, and scheduling.

The role requires you to be a degree-seeking graduate student, enrolled in required courses, and prepared to participate in training and departmental meetings.

Qualifications

• Must be a degree-seeking graduate student at JSU.
• Must be actively enrolled in a graduate degree program at JSU during the assistantship semester.
• If a new student, must be admitted to a degree program.

Responsibilities

• Complete up to 20 hours of tutoring per week during the term.
• Complete assigned training.
• Assist writers through the writing process from prewriting to editing.
• Guide writers through citation methods and multimodal projects.
• Maintain records and assist in scheduling appointments.
