Buro Happold Limited is seeking a motivated Graduate Urban Development Engineer to join our team in Los Angeles or New York. You will contribute to innovative, sustainable solutions with design support and high-performance strategies across energy, water, carbon, and waste analyses.

Qualifications

• Pursuing bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant fields.
• Interest in built environment and sustainable infrastructure.
• Experience with design and analysis software (Revit, Rhino, GIS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
• Graphic design and Adobe Creative Suite experience is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct energy, carbon, water, and/or waste analyses to identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact and resource consumption.
• Contribute to sustainability, resilience, climate action, and climate adaptation projects across sectors.
• Prepare client deliverables including presentations, technical memoranda, reports, graphics, maps, and data visualizations.
• Evaluate site-level sustainability strategies related to utilities, stormwater management, civil infrastructure, and mobility systems.
• Assess feasibility of renewable energy systems and mobility solutions, research emerging technologies, and identify funding opportunities.
• Develop client-facing communication materials and dashboards to convey technical findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, planners, and sustainability consultants in an interdisciplinary environment.
