Pennoni is hiring Graduate Civil Engineers to join our Transportation Engineering team on a full-time, direct basis.

We have needs in each of the disciplines listed below.

Job Descriptions
Highway Engineer Job Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the development of engineering design projects, working in a team to produce plans, documents, and reports.
  • Review and apply standard engineering design principles.
  • Utilize 3-D modeling software like MicroStation / InRoads or AutoCADD / Civil 3D for transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Develop transportation infrastructure plans including highway design, hydrology, drainage, water and sewer utilities, MOT plans, and geometry.
  • Support projects of various sizes for clients such as state agencies, counties, and municipalities.
Highway Engineer Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of engineering design parameters.
  • Experience with highway geometry development, water resources design, or plan preparation.
  • Exposure to modeling tools like OpenRoads.
  • Experience with highway and roadway design is preferred.
  • Experience with drainage design, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control; CCR training is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and GIS tools is a plus.
Bridge Engineer Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with structural analysis and design of bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and overhead sign structures.
  • Involvement with NBIS bridge inspections and reports.
  • Produce engineering documents for bridge design and inspection reports.
Bridge Engineer Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s in Civil Engineering with a Structural focus is a plus.
  • Completion of FHWA-NHI-13005 (Bridge Safety Inspection) is a plus.
  • Experience with major agency bridge projects is a plus.
  • Knowledge of structural analysis programs like STAAD, LEAP, AASHTOWare, etc., is a plus.
Traffic Engineer Job Responsibilities
  • Work with clients on traffic projects, including impact analysis, safety evaluations, signal analysis, and plan preparation.
  • Review traffic studies from third parties.
Traffic Engineer Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of traffic signal design software like SYNCHRO is a plus.
  • Exposure to modeling tools like OpenRoads.
  • Familiarity with traffic control plans and lighting design software.
Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • E.I.T. or E. / E.I.T. certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles: geometric development, structural analysis, hydrology, geotechnical design.
  • Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD.
  • Interest in infrastructure projects in the Mid-Atlantic region.
  • Organization and planning skills are a plus.
