Job summary

Boston University’s College of Engineering seeks an Assistant Director for Graduate Student Support in the Graduate Programs Office. The role partners with faculty and staff to enhance the graduate student experience across programs, including advising on personal, medical, and academic issues and coordinating events.

You will lead outreach to LEAP and other student groups, manage programming, and provide leadership training while guiding students through registration, orientation, and retention

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, College Student Development or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience supporting diverse student populations.
• Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build a wide university network.

Responsibilities

• Counsels and supports a diverse student population on personal, medical, and academic issues.
• Liaisons with faculty to determine extenuating circumstances warranting extensions or temporary accommodations.
• Serves as primary resource for departments and program managers to problem solve complex issues.
• Works with LEAP students from onboarding through community building and supports registration issues and planning.
• Directs the LEAP ambassador program and leads student outreach.
