Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus 2 years of related experience; strong communication and collaboration abilities are essential.

• Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
• 2 years’ of related experience

Responsibilities

• Performs administrative tasks to support graduate students, including record-keeping, program of study coordination, scheduling, course-planning and graduation tracking.
• Participates in campus-based professional development communities and sub-committee duties as appropriate.
• Disseminates information to students, faculty and departments about degree requirements or policies and adjusts advising strategies accordingly.
• May participate in search committees for new staff or faculty hires in the department.
• Oversees programming for graduate students, including mentoring programs and student organizations.
• Advises on graduate committee development and may assign course-work for programs of study.
• Provides curriculum feedback at the program level and submits department changes to curriculum tracking.
• Acts as power user for university-wide admission platforms and coordinates admission portfolios.
• Participates in recruitment activities for potential graduate students and coordinates interview processes.
• Coordinates scheduling of exams/defenses with faculty and assists students in building relationships with faculty.
• Participates in events management for graduate programs and orientations.
• Serves as a liaison between the department and the Graduate School on campus with increased institutional knowledge.
