Job summary

Windham Hospital offers a Nurse Residency program for newly licensed nurses, providing mentorship, resources, and hands-on training across Med/Surg, Telemetry, Emergency, or OR units. Residents are hired directly into a specialty and participate in classroom sessions for additional education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved nursing school; new graduates may apply.
• New RN graduates or newly licensed RNs eligible.
• Active CT RN license required; pending license holders considered.
• Current BLS certification required at hire.
• Ability to obtain department-specific certifications.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a 12-month nurse residency with focused clinical education.
• Enter a specialty area (Med/Surg, Telemetry, Emergency, OR) depending on needs.
• Engage in classroom sessions to share experiences and learning.
• Provide patient care under supervision during residency.
