Job summary

The Department of Higher Education and Learning Technologies at Texas A&M University-Commerce seeks to hire Graduate Assistant Researchers (GAR) for the 2026–2027 academic year.

GARs will support faculty research, program assessment, data collection and analysis, literature reviews, grant-related activities, and departmental initiatives related to higher education, leadership, learning technologies, and educator preparation.

Qualifications

• Admitted to or enrolled in a graduate program at East Texas A&M University-Commerce.
• Bachelor's degree required before start date.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment.
• Maintain eligibility for graduate assistant employment per university policies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct literature reviews and synthesize scholarly research.
• Assist with qualitative and quantitative research activities.
• Collect, organize, and maintain research data.
• Support survey development, administration, and analysis.
• Assist with data entry, coding, and interpretation using research software and tools.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and research summaries.
• Support grant development and grant-funded project activities.
• Assist with conference proposals, publications, and scholarly presentations.
• Participate in program evaluation and assessment activities.
• Maintain research records per university policies and ethical standards.
