Job summary

UTHealth Houston is seeking a Program Manager (Full-time) to support the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. The role involves assisting with course requirements, monitoring budgets, planning events, and supporting seminars/journal clubs within two programs: Microbiology and Infectious Diesses and Neuroscience.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree with about 5 years of related experience or equivalent education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5 years of applicable experience or equivalent education.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work after hours for events as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develops, plans and manages all activities of a school/unit program(s) or project(s).
• Functions in a Leadership capacity in the program.
• Oversees all aspects of the program activities, sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors progress.
• May manage/maintain annual budget, negotiate service contracts, report on progress and/or authorize expenditures.
• Interacts with departments and external agencies regarding proposals and funded projects.
• Prepares/makes oral presentations at professional meetings.
• Manages HR activities including recruiting, hiring, training, and salary planning.
