Job summary

The University of Houston Medical Education department is seeking a Programs Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of a small to mid-size department, including staff supervision and coordinating student research initiatives. You will assist strategic planning, budgeting, accreditation-related activities, and the development of policies.

You'll collaborate with faculty, students, and external partners to sustain a robust research infrastructure supporting student success and scholarly

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field.
• Three to five years of program management experience required.
• Experience in academic medicine or health professions education preferred.
• Knowledge of IRB processes and research compliance.
• Experience managing budgets, grants and program evaluation.
• Experience with REDCap, Qualtrics and data reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage day-to-day operations of a university program or department.
• Oversee expenditures and monitor adherence to budget.
• Provide guidance to staff and evaluate performance.
• Assist in creating abstracts, reports, and proposals.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and track budgets and activities.
• Coordinate student research events and scholarly activities.
• Support medical student research programs and partnerships.
