Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's degree required; combination with experience may be considered.
• Minimum three years in advising or counseling and two years in program planning/management.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and student information systems (Banner, DegreeWorks, campus platforms).
• Experience with degree audit/planning tools and diverse advising approaches.
• Strong professional oral and written communications; analytical problem-solving.
• Ability to apply interpersonal communication and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

• Advise students in Graduate Programs.
• Coordinate activities and events at a public, land-grant university.
• Assist senior leadership in collecting and analyzing enrollment data.
• Collaborate with recruitment staff to increase yield from admits to deposits.
• Coordinate with career services center staff within the college.
• Serve on college- and/or university-wide task forces/committees.
• Provide timely and effective academic counsel and plan development for each advisee.
• Track persistence and completion per academic plan and document in degree audit system.
• Assist with course scheduling and certifying students for graduation.
• Utilize a range of advising styles (developmental, intrusive, etc.) and apply critical reasoning.
• Refer students to appropriate university resources as needed.
• Engage in outreach to at-risk students and support appeals processes.
